Lenore Kosinski
4 stars — OK, that was pretty fun. Marlene was so playful, it was hard not to love her. But what’s great is that we got to see deeper than just that playful seductive side. She had her own set of fears and worries, they were just different from many of the other girls. I actually cried a wee bit in this one, which I wasn’t expecting. Zennek was pretty adorable in his own right. I’m with Marlene, I can appreciate a shy sweet guy. And while there were some misunderstandings between them occasionally, they fit together really well. I kind of love how we got some sex positivity with Marlene, she wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted. I also enjoyed being back with my OG narrators, and all the ways I learned to pronounce things because of them. *snort* And while Ms. Jackson’s French accent did make it hard to understand at times, I don’t feel like I lost anything important. So yeah. Apparently I needed yet another reading break. Maybe this is just what the end of 2021 is going to be like, whatever…
