Amber has killed Hillary Mitchell for being a Black Witch, and is now on trial. Whilst treated badly in custody, but she has allies and friends, and they soon rally to her aid. To defeat the Black Coven, she must uncover the Prophecy that has haunted her. Uncovering its secrets could break her though, and with the Black Coven manipulating the council, her mothers failing health and Bastion succumbing to the curse, Amber has to be at her best! The Narration is outstanding!

Someone in the council is working against Amber, could the black coven be in there also? She keeps making new friends and still working on rooting out the black coven. Amber finds out the prophecy about her and finally meets her familiar. She helps the ogre king find his mate (The Other Detective Series). They attend an illegal black coven auction incognito. Amber gains a new position and finds the necromancer in her coven.

Amber’s story continues and it is everything I hoped it would be! Amber and Bastion’s relationship is just perfect, they both hide behind the walls they have built and it is so lovely to see their softer sides when they are together. The storyline is engaging and full on, Heather’s ability to write so you feel like you are there with them is one of the reasons I will always come back to her books again and again, and Alyse Gibbs does an amazing job bring the characters to life.
