Charles Spurgeon said once to his students at the seminary that “Thomas Brooks is one of the clear examples of using holy imagination in a wise and healthy manner… He uses gold even in the margins of his books... His style is clear and comprehensive; he does not cross the line with his illustrations, which he uses without losing sight of the doctrine. Those rivers of metaphors he uses are always flowing of wise thoughts. If you never read any of Brooks' books, I almost envy you for the joy you will experience when you will read them for the first time…”.
This book has been originally published in 1659. The current edition has been proofread, typeset for eBook readers, and slightly updated for modern readers.
