About the author

Shakila Jawaid was born in Afghanistan. She holds a master’s degree in International Relations and is the former head of the cultural center of a high school for girls in Kabul. The author of many short stories published both in Afghanistan and around the world, she currently resides in Ankara, Turkey, where she enjoys reading and writing.
