Spell Wielder: An Urban Fantasy Murder Mystery

Cassie has two pet projects she's working on, in addition to her job helping solve murders... Not that it feels like the murders have the worst timing, but sometimes a girl just wants to go on a date, do the research that fascinates her, or create the first paranormal DNA database. I really enjoy this series of done in one whodunit quick reads. The cases are interesting, though this one was a bit easier to put the pieces together on, the world building is interesting as well.

Spell Wielder is the third book in the Paranormal Criminal Investigations series. Once again, our favorite scientist, Cassie, and her mates and fellow PCI team members, Zack, Isaac, and Hadrian, find themselves investigating murders occurring in the paranormal community. These murders do hit close to home as one of them because mysteriously linked to the murders. As usual, their team's professionalism and intelligence prevail, which leads to them receiving very high marks from the High Council. With multiple murders to solve, a home of their own to find, Cassie and her mates are busy but never too busy to support one another, which adds sweetness to the storyline. Laura Greenwood gives us an engaging storyline in Spell Wielder that artfully intertwines drama, romance, humor, and suspense. With none of those elements being over the top, and the characters familiar and interesting, this book is an entertaining and easy read.
