what a great story! I won't give a summation because one: I couldn't do the plot justice and two: it would be too complex. just let me say that although it was sometimes confusing this was an almost perfect romance WITHOUT THE TROPES! I didn't think such a thing was possible. She has managed to present a sympathetic, edgy and wacky love story with compassion, enormous understanding and no holds barred in depicting two insecure, uncertain, modern adults needing to stake their claim on the world and as Sinatra sang, did it their way. if this is representative, future literature is in good hands. Don't just read it for yourself, give a copy to every one of your reading friends.

Stephanie Van Orman's love stories are always unique. It's one of the things that makes her books an insta read/purchase for me. I loved this story. It deals with some darker elements but the FMC stays true to herself, as all of her FMCs do. She's strong, she's confident, even in the face of danger and defamation. Read through to the end, trust me.

This one is probably my favorite of this author’s books. It grabs your attention right from the beginning, with Shannon waking from a brick to the head to find herself handcuffed to the guy she tried to kidnap the night before. Fletch is a sweet, genuine guy who takes the time to see past her perfect exterior and discover who she really is. Their chemistry is good, the antagonist makes you want to strangle him, and the ending is great.
