It's so rare to find a good romance book these days. I picked this up after reading some recommendations on reddit, and I'm glad I gave it a chance! The story is simple, but the emotions are so real. I feel for Brynn in every way, from the first page to the last. Even shed tears for her. And Cenric! God, he's such a great character as well. Flawed but so perfect for her. I love them and their blossoming romance! The dogs are such a joyful addition, and Selene makes me want to claw her eyes out. Overall, it was a great read, and I can't wait for more!

Elisabeth Wheatley walks amongst the giants of the fantasy genre with an incongruous ease and familiarity. She is particularly gifted at framing meaningful moments and powerful vignettes, and will play your heartstrings like a masterful musician. Can't wait for the next installment.
