Alright, it took me 5 days to finish (I don't speed read) and it was a ride! I don't know how to explain it, it's not overtly violent or amazingly action based, but I loved it! The story goes quick and it's so much fun. Certain things are never touched upon again (burned hands, bruises, etc.), but it didn't take away from the story. Very much a fast paced read, but without all the explosions and action of other books. Detail oriented and a great main character tasked with finding the truth. It may bore some, but I found it very entertaining and suspenseful. A highly recommended read for those that want the details that come along with Crichton books, but a story as opposed to an action movie on paper. 4.5/10.

Decent story with a wide cast of good and bad guys. I thought the television show angle was a more plausible incentive than the China deal as motivation for the main character to sleuth the truth but both story lines fit. I got tricked by the weasel guy thinking it was too early in the story to identify the undermining; kind of like expecting a putt to break left then surprised when it actually does break left. MC puts a lot of thought and technical jargon into his books.

Another great read by Chrichton. As always, accurate and detailed information on the subject - commercial aviation this time - with lovable and realistic characters. Fast paced with twists and some cliff hanging moments. Highly recommended
