About this audiobook

Friendship was their greatest strength. Now it could become their downfall.

Pete, Oz, and Rialla have faced the worst the affliction could unleash—or so they thought. But their most dangerous enemy is no stranger. It’s their closest friend.

Cass, the ruthless Vailen, has developed a weapon beyond imagination: a liquid form of Earth’s atmosphere, engineered to infect and enslave entire populations. Her target is Wen’q’Rixsh—but Earth is next, a world poised to be harvested in a galactic war for air itself. And to carry out her plan, Cass has chosen a new herald: Jessica, Pete’s best friend.

As betrayal cuts deeper than any blade, the fragile alliance between Pete, Oz, and Rialla threatens to fracture. To save three worlds from annihilation, they must confront someone they love—and discover whether loyalty, forgiveness, or sacrifice will define their future.

But on the voyage home, one truth becomes clear: defeating Jessica may only be the beginning. The cost of survival could tear their bond apart forever.

Heart-stopping, emotional, and explosive, The Voyage Home delivers the unforgettable conclusion to The Affliction saga. Perfect for fans of fast-paced, character-driven science fiction like The Expanse and Mass Effect, this finale asks the ultimate question: what are we willing to lose to protect the world we love?

About the author

M.J. Petrin was born in Biddeford, Maine. For the first 10 years, he lived in Camp Ellis Beach, Maine, a small Lobster town where he felt safe and protected living in a quiet community.

When he moved to Miami, Florida, with his mother and brother, culture shock hit him hard. They lived in Miami and Miami Beach hotel rooms for the first 4 years in Florida. As a 10-year-old roaming the streets of downtown Miami, he experienced many things. His greatest lesson was seeing people at their lowest point in life committing unselfish acts to help others. He understood that it doesn’t matter how we look or believe; empathy for our fellow man is the most important gift we can bestow on each other during our short time on this planet.

He currently lives with his wife near Baltimore, Maryland, a city that provides him with constant inspiration.

Although his first novel series, The Affliction, is considered science fiction, the characters are exposed to the realities of everyday American life.  The characters strive to improve their world through empathy, hope, and tolerance. Something we all could use a little of.
