Thomas Schmidt

Thomas Schmidt is Head of the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures and Professor of Music at the University of Manchester. He is the author of Cambridge Introduction to the Sonata (2011), The Motet Around 1500 (2012) and The Production and Reading of Music Sources, 1480-1530 (2018). He has edited six volumes for the Leipzig Edition of the Works of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (LMA) and has been its co-editor-in-chief since 2022.
