Susan Peirce Thompson

Susan Peirce Thompson is an American, born on June 29, 1974 in San Francisco, California. She is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a BA in Cognitive Science, University of Rochester with a Master's, and a Ph.D. in Brain and Cognitive sciences. She has two years of Post-Doctoral training in Psychology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. She began her career at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New as a professor with a two-year appointment in the Psychology Department, Monroe Community College as a professor of psychology. She was awarded the NISOD Excellence Award, which is given to United States professors for their outstanding contributions and leadership. She helped found a nonprofit foundation, the Institute for Sustainable Weight Loss. Its research involves the science of effective and sustainable weight loss. She is the author of Bright Line Eating: The Science of Living Happy, Thin and Free.
