Dr. Simon Monk (Preston, UK) has a degree in Cybernetics and Computer Science and a PhD in Software Engineering. Simon spent several years as an academic before he returned to industry, co-founding the mobile software company Momote Ltd. Simon is now a full time author and has published books with both McGraw-Hill and O'Reilly. His books include three in the TAB / McGraw-Hill 'Evil Genius' series as well as books on.Net Gadgeteer and IOIO. He has also authored 'Hacking Electronics' and co-authored the third edition of 'Practical Electronics for Inventors'. His most successful recent books are 'Programming Raspberry Pi: Getting started with Python' and 'Programming Arduino: Getting Started with sketches.' both with TAB / McGraw-Hill.Simon has also teamed up with Adafruit to provide two series of very popular 'Getting Started with' on-line lessons for Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
