Octavius Winslow (1808-1878), a descendant of one of the leading New England Puritans, Edward Winslow, was born in London on August 1, 1808, and served as chaplain at Leamington Spa, Bath, and Brighton. He was also a close friend to Charles Spurgeon, who invited him very often to preach at Metropolitan Tabernacle. Octavius Winslow died on March 5, 1878.
