Dr. Nalika Ulapane (PhD, BSc (Engineering)) is a researcher specializing in mathematical modelling, engineering systems, machine learning, and digital health. He holds a PhD in Engineering and a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Dr. Ulapane has held various research and teaching positions at prestigious institutions, including the University of Melbourne, La Trobe University, Swinburne University of Technology, and the University of Technology Sydney. Dr. Ulapane solves complex problems in engineering and information systems, healthcare, and artificial intelligence by combining mathematical modelling, engineering systems design, data analytics, machine learning, and design science research principles. He has made notable contributions to electromagnetic sensing, robotics, and digital twins for healthcare. Dr. Ulapane has also served as a guest editor for the Sensors Journal (MDPI) and a book editor for several publishers. He has co-authored numerous publications, including award-winning and well-cited articles. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at La Trobe University.
