Indian born translator, Khalid Hameed Shaida earned his medical digree from King Edward Medical College in Pakistan And practiced medicine in Canada and the United States. He has translated the great Persian masters, Khusro, Hafiz, Ghalib, and Iqbal in his mother tongue of Urdu with a number of publications and reprints in Pakistan. In English, he has translated the poems of Khusro, Hafiz and Ghalib and published these as Khusro, the Indian Orpheus; Hafiz, the Voice of God; Hafiz, Drunk with God, and Ghalib, the Indian Beloved. Currently, he and his wife live a quiet life in Friendswood, Texas.
