Eirini Togia was born in Corfu and now lives in Athens with her family. She opened her first restaurant in 1979, at Ftelia Beach of Mykonos; a favourite place for the island's visitors and gourmets. This was followed by the Ftelia in Athens in 1985 and, for many years, the two restaurants operated simultaneously. For many years, "Rena Tis Ftelias" has stood out among the 10 best restaurants in Athens. Rena represents Greek creative cuisine ethically and consistently, with an emphasis on the ingredients' quality and purity, the Mediterranean diet's basic ingredients (olive oil, fresh herbs and seasonal spices) as well as on the classic and traditional recipes. Rena has been awarded numerous distinctions from European and international competitions.
