Darby C. Stapp

Co-Editor Darby C. Stapp is an anthropologist and archaeologist who has worked in the Pacific Northwest for over 30 years. Since 1991, he has worked with Plateau Tribes to address protection of sacred sites and traditional-use areas. He has published widely on tribal issues and coauthored two books: Tribal Cultural Resource Management: the Full Circle to Stewardship (2001), and Avoiding Archaeological Disasters: A Risk Management Approach (2009). Co-Editor Deward E. Walker, Jr., has authored more than 200 publications, technical reports, and reviews dealing with anthropology and tribal cultures of western North America. He specializes in various topics of direct interest and relevance to contemporary tribes for whom he frequently serves as an expert witness. As part of a larger commitment to anthropology he has served as editor of the Plateau volume of the Handbook of North American Indians and several academic journals.
