Carli Lloyd is an American soccer player, born in Delran Township, New Jersey in 1982. She is a midfielder and the co-captain of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team. She scored significant goals in 2008 and 2012 (the team winning the gold medal in both years) and 2016 Olympics. She has played in three FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments, 2007, 2011 and in 2015, winning the gold. Some of her awards include the FIFA Golden Ball (2007) and Silver Boot (2015). She was named FIFA World Player of the Year, 2015. Currently she plays for the Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League. She has written a memoir, When Nobody Was Watching: My Hard-Fought Journey to the Top of the Soccer World, with Wayne Coffey.
