Andrea Whittaker

Andrea Whittaker is a medical anthropologist who has conducted extensive research on health and illness both in Thailand and Australia. In Thailand she conducted eighteen months ethnography in a remote rural village studying community understandings of health and illness. Her current position is as Australian Research Council Fellow in the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, ANU. She is soon to commence a position as Research Fellow at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the ANU.
