I should have seen Bren for what he was right away…

I’d spent most of my time at Yew Dales watching the slopes, and I’d never seen a snowboarder command the mountain the way Bren did. Bren warned me to stay away from Loki, to never let him catch me alone, but as my desperation grows, so does the strength of Loki's pull, turning Bren’s protective grip on me into a stranglehold.

And maybe that’s Loki’s plan.
