About this ebook

***NATIONAL BESTSELLER***

STOP FOR A MOMENT.

Are you here right now?

Is your focus on this page? Or is it roaming elsewhere, to the past or future, to a worry, to your to-do list, or to your phone?

Whether you’re simply browsing, talking to friends, or trying to stay focused in an important meeting, you can’t seem to manage to hang on to your attention. No matter how hard you try, you’re somewhere else. The consequence is that you miss out on 50 percent of your life—including the most important moments.

The good news: There’s nothing wrong with you—your brain isn’t broken. The human brain was built to be distractible.

The even better news: You can train your brain to pay attention more effectively.

Stay with me a little longer and soon you will be able to:

  • Focus without all the struggle.
  • Take back your attention from the pull of distraction.
  • And function at your peak, for all that truly matters in your life.

I was so excited when I came across this book. I usually finish book in a week or two if lengthy because I get so into it and want to learn everything in there. this one tough took me from about a month and some change BECAUSE IT WAS SO PAINFUL to read. It's just a bunch of stories like a scientific diary... I'm honestly so confused about what I'm supposed to retain from it. It s incoherent and lengthy in a pointless way. there are lots of great books about mindfulness but this one is more like a first draft that could use editing.

Despite other reviews, this book follows a nice, logical structure. Each chapter introduces a concept. The author then relates it to either her life or the life of someone she knew. She's not bragging about anything; she's trying to get us to see how that concept/problem looks in people's lives. Then she may give a skill to help deal with that specific problem or to build on others she already presented in the book. Her writing isn't perfect, but it is genuine. She comes from a place of knowledge that is personal and professional. For what it is worth, I think it has helped me, though that may not be the case for everyone.

This book has been written in haphazard manner. The authot keep boasting that she is research fellow , she did that , she did this. Very depressive way of writing. There is lack of continuity and coherency. A simple message to the author of this book , you are phd. Scholar that don't implies you are an expert. Please improve your writing skills. Using very difficult words will not make you anywhere. I am rating this book 5 star for the effort you have poured in to type this book and for all the gaga you have written. To tell you frankly , i have found it of no use.
