I avoided this series for a long times because everyone was raving about them. Curiosity got the better of me. I should have gone with my instincts. The man is a phsycopath and the woman a sap for living like that. The sex scenes which everyone raved about were repetitive and I started skipping them. Worst trilogy ever.

I'm really enjoying these books. The sex scenes are starting to become unnecessary now as the characters unfold and the story develops. Although the basis of the books were about the taboo subject of bdsm it isn't heavy and in no way considered extreme at all. Reminds me of the mills and boon days but with as new edge!!

Oh my gosh, if I hear "inner goddess" or "this perfection of a man" or any other cliche used one more time, I'll throw up. Still terrible, but actually attempted a storyline this time and got somewhere. Eventually.

E L James is a former TV executive, wife and mother of two based in West London. Since early childhood she dreamed of writing stories that readers would fall in love with but put those dreams on hold to focus on her family and career. She finally plucked up the courage to put pen to paper with her first novel Fifity Shades of Grey.
