About this ebook

THE GREAT APOSTASY BY JAMES E. TALMAGE

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proclaims the restoration of the Gospel and the re-establishment of the Church as of old, in this, the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. Such restoration and re-establishment, with the modern bestowal of the Holy Priesthood, would be unnecessary and indeed impossible had the Church of Christ continued among men with unbroken succession of Priesthood and power, since the "meridian of time."

The restored Church affirms that a general apostasy developed during and after the apostolic period, and that the primitive Church lost its power, authority, and graces as a divine institution, and degenerated into an earthly organization only.

Yes there were apostasies that happened but total apostasy never happened. The myth that the primitive church lost its power and became likely less an organization will always stay a myth. Any person who has a thorough knowledge of church history would disagree with this book. Catholics are the first christians and the believers of the primitive church. There is so much evidence. If there was total apostasy, then Jesus Christ has failed in His promise in Mt 16:18 that the Church He built will never be overpowered by Hell or be apostasized. Anyone who believes this book also believes that Satan is more powerful than God himself in the person of Jesus.

I encourage all men and women to read the Book of Mormon. Another testament of Jesus Christ. Also look up and read our articles of faith. Read with an open mind and heart with a prayer in your heart to decern the truth that God wants you to find and learn. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is the Lord Gods true and living church on earth that has all the keys and authority to perform his holy ordinances for salvation that we may be saved, after all we can do, at the last day.
