It sounded intriguing and had potential, but it went overboard with how often the author kept emphasizing how old Barbara was. I suspect it was partially for entertainment and laughs, but it got old very fast. I was also then partially skeptical at how useful Barbara was with her old age. Otherwise, it was a quick-paced story and at least the plot didn't drag out like some books.

Not an enjoyable read. The endless, endless goings on about "old people", the silly thoughts she had about how great she was as an agent, the constant self congratulations, the poor character development ~ It reminded me of a hallmark book~and guarantee the rest of the series has the same formulaic plotline~the lead character going on about age~the self congratulations, continued blithely about her greatness as an agent. Stop please. Just ~ stop.

It's not a deep read or a particularly realistic mystery. I wouldn't call it a thriller by any stretch of the imagination, but the main characters are cute and it was a pleasant distraction.
