I read this in a couple of days. The psychological gamesmanship was enthralling and the insight into the criminal mind was captivating. It was mercifully low on torture scenes compared to I Am Death and it didn't make me "squirm" as much. It felt a bit like the show Mindhunter at times albeit with the additional impending danger element. This is the second book in the series I've read and it's a five from me.

Knocked off a star here as we knew who the killer was at the start of the book. The way he played mind games with the Police was a bit too like 'Silence of the Lambs'. Yes, there were twists l didnt expect, but overall I'd say this was a good book-not brilliant though.

I thought Chris Carter's books couldn't get anymore sadistic and twisted but I was wrong. Great storyline, amazing twists and turns. I couldn't put the book down, read it in one day. Huge fan I have read all of his books. I can't wait for his next bestseller
