He brings that sense of adventure and excitement to this story, making it a favorite for home and classroom reading along with such middle grade fantasy favorites as The One and Only Ivan.

Read this book when I was younger after I got a copy when the author came to my school. It was my favorite and it is the one that got me to love reading as much as I do. I am 16 and just found out this is a series and I will defiently be reading all of them regardless of my age. Brings back memories

This is our first chapter book. The chapters are just the right length (not too long) for reading before bedtime. The story is easy to follow and definitely held our interest.

I have found some bedtime stories to dull and other to much. This was just right. I enjoyed as much as my daughter did. Wonderful characters and a marvels land.

Bryan Chick is the author of the Secret Zoo series. He originally had the idea for the series when he was a nine-year-old and wondered what would happen if zoo exhibits had secret doors that allowed children to go inside... and the animals to come outside. Bryan Chick lives with his wife and four children in Clarkston, Michigan.
