About this ebook

She never wanted marriage. He never planned to fall in love. But fate had other plans.

Christine Grey is perfectly happy in her quiet countryside life, preferring the company of her animals over meddling matchmakers. She has no interest in marriage—especially not to the infuriatingly handsome Sir Alexander Thorne, her new neighbor at Gracefield Park. But when an unexpected scandal forces them into a marriage of convenience, Christine finds herself bound to a man she never wished to wed.

Sir Alexander had his own plans—none of which included marrying the stubborn but captivating woman next door. His focus has always been on restoring his estate and proving himself worthy of his title. But after one compromising moment changes everything, he must do the honorable thing.

As they navigate their unexpected marriage, an undeniable attraction begins to grow. Yet Christine cannot believe a love born from obligation could ever last, and Alexander fears he will never be the husband she deserves. Can they open their hearts to the possibility of true love, or will pride and fear keep them apart?

A heartwarming, closed-door Regency romance filled with slow-burn tension, witty banter, and the irresistible pull of an unexpected love.

A sweet, clean romance that starts off with the opposite of a meet cute but does end with a HEA. So glad Christine got her own story; she was one of my favorite characters throughout this series. The friendships between the women and their spouses & siblings continues in this book. My favorite Christine quote "But hope is a presumptuous thing, don't you think? It cannot be tamed." This book also had one of the best epilogues I've read in quite some time. Such a lovely ending to the series!

Christine and Alex did not get along the first few times they met. She was not at her best, and he made assumptions. Even still, they were attracted to each other against their will. When they were trapped together, they each got to see a side to the other's character that they had not imagined. She's smart, brave, and capable. He can be a kind and caring gentleman and also capable. I really liked the way the story played out. There was little angst between the characters except that caused by

I loved this book! A Presumptous Hope was such a delight to read. I loved the witty dialogue, enemies to lovers vibe, & sweet romance. From their nearly disastrous first meeting, to Christine’s embarrassing mistakes, to their mutual distaste yet attraction for each other, this book was impossible to put down. I couldn’t wait to see how the two main characters would ever get together. Highly recommend this witty, charming Regency romance! Though part of a series, it’s easily read as a standalone.
