I don't know where Robin Hobb gets all her imagination from but I stand in awe of its richness and the power she has to weave it into such a gripping storyline. There are times where her world become more alive than this one, here, now. That's what the Farseer / Tawny Man series did to me

Rich, intricate and as a completion of a saga - utterly airtight. Inevitable as doom itself. Hobb writes like a empathetic savant omniscient, I swear. This is a world realized by an author who portrays the tricky, gritty human condition alongside gleaming, scaled behemoths like Tintaglia and neither seem less fantastical for it. Just wow.

Don't expect the ending that the books have been working up to in the previous 8 novels. Totally disappointing ending that felt very unfaithful to the thrust of this trilogy.

About the author

Robin Hobb is one of the world’s finest writers of epic fiction. She was born in California in 1952 but raised in Alaska, where she learned how to raise a wolf cub, to skin a moose and to survive in the wilderness. When she married a fisherman who fished herring and the Kodiak salmon-run for half the year, these skills would stand her in good stead. She raised her family, ran a smallholding, delivered post to her remote community, all at the same time as writing stories and novels. She succeeded on all fronts, raising four children and becoming an internationally best-selling writer. She lives in Tacoma, Washington State.
