About this ebook

Samson, a vampire with an eternity of experience, is facing his most humiliating challenge yet: he can’t get it up. His psychiatrist is stumped. But when the stunning mortal auditor Delilah literally lands in his lap after a frightening assault, Samson’s primal urges awaken with a vengeance. His desire is back, but only for her.

His therapist’s outrageous suggestion—one night with Delilah could be the cure—shatters his last shred of resistance. Samson gives in, expecting a single, scorching night to restore his potency.

However, their intimate encounter is violently interrupted by another attack on Delilah, leaving a trail of blood and unanswered questions in its wake. Now, Samson must not only hide his true, immortal nature but also unravel the secrets that have turned Delilah into the target of a ruthless killer. What began as a desperate cure for his impotence turns into a pulse-pounding descent into desire, danger, and a fight for survival.

ABOUT THE SERIES

The Scanguards Vampires series is full of fast-paced action, scorching love scenes, witty dialogue, and strong heroes and heroines. Vampire Samson Woodford lives in San Francisco and owns a security/bodyguard company, Scanguards, which employs both vampires and humans. And eventually some witches. Throw in a few immortal guardians and demons later in the series, and you'll get the drift! Each book can be read as a standalone and always centers around a new couple finding love, but the series is more enjoyable when read in order. And of course, there are always a few running jokes - you'll understand when you meet Wesley, a wannabe witch. Enjoy!

4 stars — This was a reread, but I hadn’t written a review the first time I read it, so this is just my current thoughts. Course I didn’t write my review right away, so this is going to be a lame review again. I will admit that I liked the overarching plot and world setup more than the romance this time around. Which is not to say the romance was bad, I definitely enjoyed it… But the steamy scenes weren’t necessarily that inspiring…this is weird to admit, but I really wasn’t a fan of referring to Delilah’s genitals as pink petals…it grossed me out for some reason. But that’s my own hang up. So basically I ended up enjoying the non-steamy romance moments more. Samson was intriguing because of what he was going through with his…er…issues. It was a really unique spin to put on a story, an impotent vampire. It was actually kind of sad though, how lonely he was, and how he was trying to force a connection because he wanted some family. I really loved his backstory and how that came into play throughout the story. Delilah was intriguing herself. I loved how smart she was, how she was looking for that control in her job — trying to fix something from her past by trying to fix things for people now. It was a bit weird, but it worked for me. I loved that she did eventually get resolution on that issue. I seriously loved the set of characters we’re introduced to in Samson’s friends/employees. The whole setup of Scanguards is intriguing, and I enjoyed the secret underground world. I felt for a lot of the characters, I was intrigued by so many of their stories. I think that was truly a strong part. It made me desperately want to seek out and read them all. I’ve read the first 3 or 4, so I’ll be rereading them, and then continuing on with the few others I have. So yeah…really enjoyed the world building, characters and romance, and the potential for the series.

I've read the whole Scanguard series by Tina Folsom and loved each and every book. It has it all: love, sec, drama, battle good vs evil, humor and sadness. Sometimes in a series the books become predictable. NOT THIS SERIES.
