Hazel spends her days studying magic, and her nights with friends. Until one morning she wakes and her faithful Cat, Azriel, is missing. She soon discovers all the Familiars are gone.
Hazel and her friends turn the situation into an adventure, only to learn they no longer have magical powers. On a regular day this might not be a big deal, however, the disappearance of the spirit animals wakes a Dragon from its centuries long slumber.
