Dolores Cannon, hipnoterapeuta regressiva e pesquisadora psíquica que registra conhecimentos "perdidos", nasceu em 1931 em St. Louis, Missouri. Estudou e morou em St. Louis até se casar em 1951 com um militar de carreira da Marinha. Passou os próximos 20 anos viajando pelo mundo como típica esposa da Marinha, cuidando da família. Em 1970 seu marido foi dispensado como veterano com problemas físicos e foram morar nas colinas do Arkansas. Foi então que ela começou a carreira de escritora, vendendo artigos para diversas revistas e jornais. Está envolvida com hipnose desde 1968 e exclusivamente com o trabalho de terapia e regressão a vidas passadas desde 1979. Estudou diversos métodos de hipnose e desenvolveu sua própria técnica singular, permitindo-lhe obter a liberação mais eficaz de informações de seus pacientes.
