Jake Hanson, second-in-command of the Bayou Wolves, knows all there is to know about weaponry. He’s the Wolves’ munitions expert and also cousin to their leader, Psycho. While extremely loyal, he also has a weakness that some look to exploit. Charlie is a prospect he’d saved from a vampire attack, but one he can’t shake. She knows Trigger has a thing for her, she just can’t figure out why he’s so closed-off and keeps pushing her away. However, Trigger is staying strong and maintaining his resolve to keep things professional, refusing to let anyone expose any weaknesses.

When Charlie ventures out on her own and discovers she may have found a lead to the vampire kidnappers they’ve been searching for, Trigger is forced to team up with her and the other wolves to find out if they’re onto a real lead, or if it will be another dead end. Will this bring them closer together and convince Trigger that she really is all wrong for him?
