It's not what I expected after the first book but follows the characters on into the opening of the time tombs. Although it misses some of the unique style of Hyperion it still carries the feel of Hyperion forward to unexpected places and still benefits from Simmons amazing descriptive, poetic talents. Well worth reading.

If there is one thing I hate about a book it's not being surprised. And that's why I enjoyed this read so much. Just when I thought I had it all worked out and I knew what would happen next, it completely pulled the rug out from under me. A great and enjoyable experience.

Just simply outstanding. Reading this and Hyperion, I have to say has been an absolute joy, I loved every word on every page. If you've never read this make sure you get Hyperion first, read them back to back and enjoy the journey
