Maybe someone who read Abby Green's romance first will notice that Samia in the manga is actually pretty diferent: even though both Samias are shy and have strong confidence issues, the one from the romance is quite outspoken when she's with Sadiq and even a little hot-headed, while the other Samia is a shy and sweet girl struggling to believe that she can do it. And I think this is great: there is another type of strenght that is explored with this Samia. It's not that outspoken characters aren't great, but there is something special about shy and withdrawn characters: and I think it's about being sweet, being frequently misunderstood by the world, and getting stronger and stronger in the process. It's about being sweet and strong. Maybe what's really great about manga Samia is that she shows a sweet type of strenght: she remains that kind, sometimes clumsy young woman, while she becomes strong. I'm very fond of that! Not to mention that even though Sadiq starts as the super strong, invulnerable man, he slowly shows that he also has his weak spots just like Samia, and they grow together as a couple. Well done! (The only thing I didn't like was the bottom lip in the character's features, specially Samia. Why does it have to be so big?)
