This book traces the search for witnesses and executioners involved in the forced disappearances of individuals suspected of affiliation with the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI). The author successfully located these executioners in major cities across Indonesia, including Medan, Bali, Java, and others, and documented their confessions. Initially, the team was doubtful whether the executioners would openly discuss their deeds, considering that doing so could expose them to legal consequences. Surprisingly, they spoke candidly, mostly driven by the desire not to carry this burden into the afterlife. 'I'm nearing the end of my life. I don't want this secret to remain hidden. I feel sorry for the victims' families.'”
