An award-winning sociologist, Charles Tilly has been equally influential in explaining politics, history, and how societies change. Charles Tilly, the Joseph L. Buttenwieser Professor of Social Science at Columbia University, is the author of more than thirty books. He lives in Manhattan, New York.
