I couldn't truly like the main character, Molly. She made a lot of dumb decisions, putting herself in danger and contaminating evidence and crime scenes. The police detective as well as officers appeared to have no rules or procedures. In a world where we not only see fictional crime shows, we see a lot of true crime and body cam videos. All that made reading this book feel like everyone was just stupid. Because to me, no one in he real world would make he decisions the characters make. Even down to the town itself, who invites it's harshest critic back to judge it's annual festival once again.

I read only 33% of this book. The main character is unlikable. The first thing she does at the crime scene is touch evidence and the officer does not reprimand her. I also found the similes to be frequent and clunky.

There was a lot of repetitive dialog, and at one point, you just wanted it to be over.
