This is book 2 out of 3 in this series. For some reason, this book has been offered and put out to review after book 3, so it felt as of I was reading it back to front. There are references in this book that were clearly the basis of the later book McKenzie has loved Chance for years. She was brought up in a loving home, well cared for and protected. After the loss of his wife, her father remarried and the woman spent his money, the ranch declined and after his death, Kenzie got the ranch and a huge headache of trying to keep it going alone. Chance returns after 10 years on the rodeo circuit, having been successful and with some money behind him. He is determined to help get the ranch back to its former position and uses his money to do so. He shies away from his feelings for Kenzie, ashamed of his upbringing and the association attached to his name. Hurt, fear, loving, doubting, humour, empathy, disappointment are all involved in this story, wrapped up in this couple. Each story is well written, a simple story of each couples relationship and problems. Well written, likeable characters and easy reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a great read - this was a book that i was in a hurry to get back to even got up after 3 hours sleep to finish the book. **Plot Spoiler *** From what Chance saw of himself he did not think that he was good enough for a property owners daughter even though she had her heart set on him since she was 10 - Took running away and then being broken and returning 10 years latter to give her a chance to prove to him that she was not the princess that he had put up on the pedestal for so long. Then it come down to showing her why he thought that he was not good enough for her and hope that she would still love him no matter what he showed her.. Thank you BookSprout and Shylyn Ray for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!! WHAT I LIKED: This book was perfect. I found myself laughing out loud to things that the characters would say to each other and to the stunts/tricks that they played on each other. Chance is a tough cowboy that was never able to settle down. While Mackenzie is a wild young girl just wanting to have the cowboy of her dreams that never seemed to want her back. The bantering, the chemistry, the situations, were all so perfectly laid out. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: The only part I think that really bothered me was that there was very little mentioned of Chance's mast and what he went through to become the tough cowboy that he is today. All of this is mentioned once in the book near the end, but by that time you already knew that no matter what Kenzie wasn't leaving him so it didn't matter. I just think having little pieces be released earlier on in the book that make Kenzie second guess her cowboy may have helped the suspenseful build of the ending reunion. OVERALL / RECOMMENDATIONS: This book is an adorable quick read with witty conversations and rough/tough cowboys. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet country romance with a happy ending.
