 Shikshapatri is a book of code of conduct written in Sanskrit by Lord Swaminarayan himself at Vadtal the capital of the Southern Diocese of Swaminarayan Sampraday. The original manuscript of Shikshapatri is preserved in Swaminarayan Temple at Vadtal. Shikshapatri a collection of 212 shlokas in Sanskrit is now available in more than ten languages.

 Among the various Hindu groups, Swaminarayan Sampraday (sect) has been very visible in India and around the world though.  Lord Swaminarayan who is the founder of Swaminarayan Sampraday wrote a religious text called Shikshapatri .  The Shikshpatri consist of 212 verses and has the instructions for living spiritual and ethical life for all of the followers of the sect. The Shikshaptri is written in Sanskrit language and Nityanand Swami translated it in the Gujarati language. The Gujarati translation of the Shikshaptri is the most accessible and used scripture of the Swaminarayan sect.  All followers of the Swaminarayan Sampraday read at least a portion of the Shikshapatri daily during their morning devotion.    

                The Shikshapatri has been translated in many languages of the world. Following includes Sanskrit, Gujarati and English version of the Shikshapatri.
