This book highlights that, through its research, teaching, and community outreach, the School of Architecture and Design of Manipal University Jaipur, India, is consistently pursuing ‘responsible pedagogies’ in environmental, economic, and social sustainability, all of which speak to the urgent premise of addressing climate change.

Dr Madhura Yadav is an architect planner with over three decades’ experience in academics, administration, and research. She is a UNESCO-certified Mentor in Community-based Participatory Research (CBPR), and has delivered keynote addresses on sustainable architecture and planning, the design of SMART villages, sustainable rural development, and sustainable materials at various universities and government organizations. She has also contributed as a team leader in the preparation of city development plans, as well as heritage conservation and slum rehabilitation projects, and is the author of several publications. She is a recipient of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) scholarship for her doctoral research, along with receiving several awards, such as the Education Leadership Award 2019, and the Indo Pacific Architecture Excellence Award 2021 in Recognition of Sustained Commitment in Architecture Education. She is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Design at Manipal University Jaipur, India.
