RANI OF JHANSI

Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi was one of the important leaders of the Great Indian Rebellion of 1857. Married to the King of Jhansi, a princely state and trained in martial arts, Laxmibai became the ruler when her husband died prematurely. 

This title, devoted to the life-story of this great woman warrior, will enlighten you on the unjust methods of the then British rule in taking over her Kingdom. "Meri Jhansi Nahi Doongi" (I will not give my Jhansi) were her words which inspired her subjects to a valiant fight against the British invasion.
