Political Parties in the European Community (1979) looks at the decision by the member governments of the European Community to proceed to the direct election of a European Parliament. In addition, it deals with the evolution of transnational groupings of parties both inside and outside the European Parliament, and the concluding chapter places Europe’s parties in the overall context of the political societies within which they operate.
