About this ebook

I love him.

I loathe him.

It’s like plucking daisy petals in my head, but he’ll never know.

When Miles Cavanaugh, the best safety in the league, was traded to the Chicago Grizzlies football team last year, I could finally breathe. Temptation was miles away.

How naïve to think it would end there because when the opportunity to write for a national magazine based in Chicago lands in my lap months later, I can’t turn it down. Sure, it’s a big city, but the sexual energy feels like a beacon between us the minute my plane lands.

To make matters worse, I end up having to take over the job of reporting exclusively on the Chicago Grizzlies. Which means traveling with the team, interviewing players, and pretty much having an all-access pass to their lives during the season.

Miles and I put up a great front, quickly hating on one another, but we both know it’s a lie. We also know the rules are simple. For me, don’t sleep with the subject of your articles. For him, don’t sleep with the journalist who can make or break your career.

I thought straight-laced Miles Cavanaugh followed all the rules… oh how wrong I was.

I love and enjoy reading Miles' story so much. Miles is so sweet and caring. He has flaws and he may be an underdog in a lot of people's eyes but he is strong, smart, and loyal. Bryce, in another hand, was hard to love. I have to confess that I didn't like when she analyzed Miles in his games. I know, I know but still, LOL. But Bryce in this book is more opening and I finally like her. Their story is full of sizzling chemistry and their friends are meddling which causes the story as funny as always. If Piper and Rayne left me hanging so long with Miles' book and this is what I got, I would say it's worth the wait!!! And now I can't wait for the next two books of the series!

I absolutely love the books I've read written by Piper Rayne. They write well with excellent storylines and likable characters. This is the first book in a new series, but the main characters we know from Kingsmen Football Star series. I couldn't wait for their story and I wasn't disappointed. I laughed but also got frustrated with them. I loved how we learned who they truly were as individuals. Their chemistry is off the charts. They were so perfect together. I look forward to getting to know the new characters better in the next books! This is going to be another great series!

EBOOK/AUDIO REVIEW: After meeting the team in On The Defense i was very excited for Something Like Hate ( Chicago Grizzlies #1) and i wasn’t disappointed. This book was everything I have come to expect from this very talented author duo and so much more. If this book is anything to go by they will certainly have another hit series on their hands. Tim Paige and Sephanie Kay did a fantastic job with the narration bringing the characters and their journey to life.
