After a slow start this book really lived up to expectations. A worthy addition to the Commonwealth sagas. Let's hope there's plenty of further tales from that part of the Sci Fi Universe from the author.

Spoiler...... At the end....like rwading about soviet union or nazi germany for 500+ pages. Need to read last 50 pages for the closure of the whole void story but fairly predictable after a twist. Left out the most important question in the epilogue part.... Raiel... How they coped was left out... How did the armada cope??? Were they all in staises??? My main issue with Hamilton is that most of his books are a bit miss leading, I like reading about future in sci fi, but get edeard and slvasta stories.

Awesome book loved it it was well worth the wait waiting for a new book from Mr Hamilton has always been a great joy of anticipation for me I just wish there were more and they were the same size and complexity as the Nights Dawn Trilogy its a shame there have never been any films made from his amazing work but to be honest I don't think theres a movie studio or director that could do them justice yet many thanks sir you are a literary genius you bring light to a dark existence.
