About this ebook

A Scathing Critique of the Bush Administration's Abandonment of True Conservatism

In Where the Right Went Wrong, renowned conservative commentator Patrick J. Buchanan chronicles how the Bush administration and Beltway conservatives have strayed from their principles, leaving America morally bankrupt and mired in debt. Buchanan argues that a small cabal has hijacked U.S. foreign policy, potentially igniting a "war of civilizations" with the Islamic world that could leave America's military entangled in the Middle East for years to come.

Simultaneously, these Republicans have sacrificed the American worker on the altar of free trade and discarded the beliefs of Taft, Goldwater, and Reagan to become a party of Big Government that sells its soul to the highest bidder. Buchanan's damning portrait calls the Bush administration to task for its abandonment of true conservatism, including the neo-conservative cabal of liberal wolves in conservative suits, the widening and imperiling of the War on Terror through the Iraq War, and a trade policy that outsources American sovereignty, independence, and industrial power.

In this provocative and insightful book, Buchanan offers a searing critique of the present masters of the GOP and the direction in which they have taken the party and the country. Where the Right Went Wrong is a must-read for anyone concerned about the state of American politics and the future of conservatism.

I like the fact that when a rightist such as Buchanan rightfully denounces neoconservatives, it might be reason for others to notice. Let us hope the conservatives follow his way. Although conservative views may not be my total ideal, I would much rather conservatives act and believe like Buchanan than act and believe like Bush. The criticisms are right on and Buchanan is courageous to be maverick enough to criticize the right. You conservatives better listen and change your movement to align it with Buchanan’s recommedations.
