The son of a professor, he loved reading books and magazines as a youngster. He developed an interest in science at an early age but later when it did not provide answers to questions which arose in his mind, he turned to literature, philosophy, psychology and spirituality. A book on Buddhism and the writings of saint-philosopher Swami Sivananda were major influences on his life. He also had the good fortune to interact with some saints and thinkers. He meditates, writes in a journal and tries to follow essential spiritual guidelines. He works as a copy editor and lives with his wife, son and mother in Delhi.
