The sciences of pharmacology and toxicology are strongly intertwined. The former focuses on how medications function in live beings, while the latter focuses on the bad effects of drugs and chemicals and how to treat them. Both fields are concerned with the behaviour of drugs and chemicals in living organisms. This book provides a detailed illustration of the most important concepts that are involved in pharmacology and the medical sciences that are related to it. The title opens with a discussion of the historical elements of drug creation, including up-to-date information about Nobel Laureates in pharmacology and toxicology and the key discoveries they made. Following this, it conducts an analysis of the fundamental concepts of pharmacology, including pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, as well as providing comprehensive information on drug transporters and interactions. The subsequent chapters of the book are dedicated to covering a comprehensive assortment of subjects that provide vital knowledge on the fundamental principles of pharmacology and the manner in which these concepts are used for the clinical treatment of disorders.

Dr. Trilochan Satapathy, currently working as Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, Columbia Institute of Pharmacy, Vill-Tekari, Near Vidhansabha, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. He has a rich experience of 24 years in teaching M. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, and D. Pharmacy. He has obtained M.Pharmacy in Pharmacology from K.L.E College of Pharmacy, Belgaum under RGUHS, Bangalore, Karnataka, Ph.D from Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha and D.Sc in Pharmacy (Faculty of medical Sciences) from Berhampur University, Odisha. He has guided 05 Ph.D and many M. Pharmacy students for their research. He has more than 120 publications, in various reputed national and international journals.

Dr. Venkata Suresh Jilakara, Professor & Principal at Vathsalya College of Pharmacy, Anatharam, Bhongiri, Telangana. Having 26 + years of teaching & Research experience. He has been serving as National Coordinator, IPA DP NEC since 2014 to 2023. Acted as Co-Chairman, Registration Committee 68th IPC & received excellence award at 68th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress hosted by IPA in Andhra University, December 16 - 18, 2016. He served as Vice President & Secretary for IPA Local branch Khammam. Education: Completed B. Pharm-1995, M. Pharm - 1997 from Gulbarga University & Ph.D. - 2012 from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Life member of Professional bodies Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI) & Indian Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (IACP). He has guided PhD. - PG around 72 students and published more than 55 original research articles. Chaired so many AICTE Sponsored scientific sessions as a speaker and chairperson.

Mr. Varunesh Chaturvedi completed his B. Pharm from Kota College of Pharmacy, Rajasthan University of Health and Science, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He holds Master degree in Pharmacology from Jaipur National University, Jagatpura, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He is currently working as Assistant professor at Jaipur National University. He is highly professional in Academician and researcher in Pharmacy Field. He is guiding students in B. Pharm and M. Pharm. He has published 15 publications in reputed National and International Journals. He has 1 UK patent grant and 1 Indian patent. He has been awarded with Young Researcher Award. He is a life member of Society of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (SPER) and Registered Pharmacist.

Prof. (Dr.) Ittagi Shanmukha is serving as Professor and Vice Principal, Head. Dept. of Pharmacology, S.C.S College of Pharmacy, Harapanahalli 58313, Karnataka State. He has 22 years experience of teaching Pharmacology to Pharmacy undergraduate and postgraduate Students as well as nursing students. He has credited 04 Indian patents, 40 research articles in national and international Journals. He has guided and co-guided more than 75 Postgraduate students. Has also presented research article in various national and international conferences/seminars. Further he is also a member of various professional bodies such as Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India, Indian Pharmacological Society, Society of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Association of Community Pharmacist of India.
