Joey is a 21-year-old, slow talking, long-haired, muscled, gay man from East Texas. Sean is a 19-year-old, over-analytical, Young Republican, closeted homosexual from West Texas. Sean chronicles their relationship (which runs concurrently with the first decade of the AIDS crisis) and introduces a cast of other square pegs, all circumnavigating the mythical round hole. Part love story, part expose, part psychological treatise, Of Pumps and Circumstance is a humorous, erotic and sometimes tragic tale of the search for love, truth and self-worth. Kevin Curry is a Texas native and graduate of Baylor University. At the time of publication, he and husband Michael Marietti reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is his first novel.
