About the author

Prof. (Dr.) Nihal Anwar Siddqui is Director of Centre of Excellence, Occupational Health, Safety, Fire, and Environment, at GD Goenka University. Dr. Siddiqui specializes in the area of safety management, occupational health and safety, environmental pollution, env. monitoring and control techniques. In his 28 years of career, Dr. Siddiqui has worked on different organization like Institute of Environment & Management, Lucknow, Paryacon Engineers, Environmental Engineering Division of Central Pulp & Paper Research Institute as a scientist. Dr. Siddiqui did some of the pioneer works in the area of odor monitoring and providing control technology along with Finland scientist. Dr. Siddiqui was also associated with Health, Safety, and Environment Dept. of ICEM college, Muscat, Oman which is affiliated to University of Central Lancashire, UK. Dr. Siddiqui is an approved tutor to teach international certificate courses like IOSH, NEBOSH UK. Dr. Siddiqui has received several awards during his 28 years of career.

Dr. Mohammad Moizuddin is a health and safety professional and has been working in this field for the last 29 years to manage the hazard and risk of the industry and providing the cost-effective engineering and practical solution to the company along with disaster management. He was an ex-HSE head of Burj Khalifa-Dubai (world’s tallest manmade structure) during construction phase and successfully handed over the iconic project. During this period, he has coordinated with many clients, consultants, contractors, such as Qatar Petroleum, EMAAR (Dubai), BOEING (US), ADCO (Abu Dhabi), Victory Height (Dubai), BFH (Bahrain), DLF-India, etc. He is a fellow member of International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM-UK), graduate member of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Grade IOSH-UK), and member of American Society of Safety Professional (USA). He has achieved the national and internal safety award and guided the company to achieve the safety award.

Prof. Anil Kumar Gupta is working as CEO in IIT Roorkee. Prof. Anil Kumar Gupta is an illustrious figure in DRR internationally, with exemplary contributions to disaster preparedness and resilience through policy-planning at national, sectoral, and international agendas. His vision and striving for human resource capacities and institutional development of training including DMI, NIDM, and ICARS, and guidance and support to states/UTs in disaster management and climate actions are widely known. He pioneered CCA-DRR convergence, ECODRR & NBS, DM Plans of Ministries, City DRR Scorecard, DIA, and mitigation analysis in advancing DRR. Besides natural and climatic disasters, he was a driving force in promoting industrial, chemical, and health-related disasters and emergency management in India. He also drives a global move “Accelerating Transformation (ACCTRA)” of pole-vaulting improvements along India’s national vision on DRR leadership and cooperation.

Dr. Akbar Ziauddin is a distinguished professional in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) with an impressive academic and professional background. He holds a doctorate in HSE Engineering, with his thesis focusing on “A Study on Exposure Assessment and Evaluation of Occupational Health Hazards of Carbon Nanotubes,” alongside a master’s in technology in HSE, a master’s in environmental studies, and a degree in environmental management. His career spans roles in oil and gas exploration services, where he specialized in HSE advisory, accident investigations, and training senior staff, as well as positions such as a chief examiner at a leading health and safety institute in India and an HSE engineer and advisor at Mitchell Drilling International. He has authored and edited more than 13 books, published more than 29 papers, and developed e-learning courses on HSE, fire safety, and environmental management. He is a member of esteemed professional bodies like IOSH, IIRSM, and IEMA.

Dr. Prasenjit Mondal is an associate professor at Centre of Excellence in Occupational Health, Safety, Fire, and Environment of GD Goenka University, Gurgaon. His area of interest is drinking water and industrial effluent treatment strategies, conversion of waste to wealth, ambient and indoor air quality improvement techniques, industrial hazard, and risk analysis. During his Ph.D., he developed a low budget and highly efficient drinking water filtration system using organic adsorbent. He has worked in several internal and external funded projects as an investigator. He has published more than 50 international journal papers and edited book chapters. His major patents includes Cancer Risk Assessment tool using Python language, indoor air pollution control by application of IoT, and water filtration system using bio-adsorbents.
