Flamingo notices a mysterious creature in the meadow near her pond and worries when she discovers it is a bumblebee. Bumblebees can sting! But when Flamingo finally talks to the bumblebee, she is concerned Flamingo will eat her. Flamingo and Bumble decide to take a risk, and they become good friends. Together, they fly across the lands meeting new creatures.

Kelly Berry-Petrie was inspired to write this book after she completed a painting of a flamingo and a bumblebee. She hopes the friendship between Flamingo and Bumble will remind readers not to discriminate, but to embrace others’ differences. Kelly is a mother and grandmother, and she splits her time between Wasaga Beach, Ontario, and Florida with her husband and dog. Mingo ’n’ Bumble is her first book.
